The LFG Denkmalpflege und historische Bauforschung is currently working on the research project In den Heimgärten (funded by the BBSR). Essentially, the project is investigating the possibilities of energy-efficient refurbishment of the 1920s housing stock.

As part of the project, a terraced house on the In den Heimgärten estate in Aachen is being analysed in terms of building physics and measured by us in collaboration with Aachen University of Applied Sciences. This data will then be used to create a digital twin.

The participants will gain an insight into the structure of a research project and participate in the discussion on the possible implementation of Scan to BIM and learn something about the associated theory.
In general, the seminar is dedicated to the central question of how we can make existing buildings digitally manageable in the future.
