Madhumitha is a PhD candidate at the Design Computation Chair at RWTH. She is sponsored under the DAAD Scholarship Grant for Doctoral Researchers. Her research is on "Semantic enricment of Building Information Models for existing buildings". The work focuses on exploring application of web-based information orchestration using linked data for enriching information in BIM and how such information can be checked for its validity. She also works as a part of the BIM4Ren project at the Chair.
Madhumitha completed her Bachelors, earning her B.Tech (hons.) from SASTRA, Thanjavur. She graduated from her M.S in Building Technology and Construction Management from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India in 2017 and was awarded the degree for her work on "Automated Construction Progress Monitoring using Range Imaging" under the supervision of Prof. Koshy Varghese at the BTCM research group.
Her research interests are IT applications in Construction Management including Semantic Web and Linked Data, Building Information Modelling, Imaging for construction applications and AR/VR visualization.
