NFDI4ING

Research data management
in engineering Sciences

Sub-Project Ellen

Projektbeschreibung

NFDI4ING aims to master the structural complexity and heterogeneity of research data in the engineering sciences. NFDI4Ing consists of a number of subprojects – the task areas – that together form the NFDI4Ing work program. The overall aim is to foster and further establish the use of FAIR Research Data Management

For the first time, the Built Environment has a dedicated focus in the development and promotion of domain specific research data management workflows and best practices within the Task area Ellen:

Together with FZJ and TIB Hannover, the Design Computation Group aims to foster and enhance existing solutions for RDM and tailor them to the needs of Engineers in Architecture, Civil Engineering and Construction (AECO) domains. Close collaborations and alignments with the activities of other NFDI consortia including NFDI4EARTH, NFDI4Objects and NFDI4Culture are an integral part of the work program.

Individual task areas are essentially divided into two groups. As the name suggests, the overarching solutions task areas provide, maintain and coordinate activities on topics that are relevant to all other task areas in the consortium as well as provide pathways to the greater RDM landscape, e.g., to the Base4NFDI projects. To support this process, they collaborate with the archetype task areas, which focus on different method-oriented engineering science approaches. Finally, task area Management & Outreach organises the overall management of the consortium and coordinates its outreach activities.
