This elective course introduces students systematically to the BIM modelling. Starting from the topological analysis of building structures, they independently develop BIM models using open-source software. The focus lies not only on geometric modeling but especially on the information-based enrichment of the models in line with BIM logic.
Over the course of the semester, students test different modeling approaches and critically examine the possibilities and limitations of open-source BIM solutions. Particular emphasis is placed on the experimental use of AI tools to support the modeling process.
Objective
- In-depth understanding of the BIM methodology and its practical application
- Development of a topological understanding of buildings as a foundation for digital design
- Critical and reflective engagement with AI tools in the planning process
